Join the Circle!

It’s that time of year again!  Time to make sure that your theater company is taking advantage of a valuable and much appreciated audience development tool.

I’m talking, of course about the Circle of Friends card.

The Circle of Friends card is a two-for-one ticket card distributed to over 50,000 households to promote greater awareness of theatre in our region.  All StageSource member theaters are invited to be listed on the COF card and may distribute cards as a benefit to your subscribers/members.  This is a valuable opportunity to promote your theater’s work to the audiences at other local companies. You may set your own policy regarding the performances at which the card will be honored.  Circle of Friends is continually rated highly on our list of programs by our individual members and theatres.

In our recent spring survey we collected some additional information on the card.  54% of respondants have used the card and 84% use it at least 1-4 times a year.  Here’s what some folks had to say about the card:

“I love the Circle of Friends discount.  Between that and the free ticket offers I am able to attend much more theater than I normally would.”

“As a theater producer, it was an important and valued incentive for signing up season subscribers.”

“It’s wonderful!!”

Many of those surveyed asked for clearer stipulations for using the card and to that end we will be compiling a list on our website of participating theatres’ policies (although cardholders should still check with the box office when ordering tickets to confirm)  We are continually working to raise the visibility of the card and hoping to reach new audiences with it each season.

Renewal forms and additional information are now available on our website.  Forms are due back in our office by Friday, June 29th.  Don’t miss out!
