Yes, I know we keep talking about it and I’m sorry if you’ve heard it before but it’s IMPORTANT. Our fabulous StageSource interns have just finished scanning all the headshots and resumes we have on file here in our office and uploaded them to our online searchable database. Between that and those of you who responded to our Upload Your Profile Video from this Spring, our searchable database has increased tremendously.
Employers from Boston Casting to small fringe companies to the Huntington use this online searchable database on a regular basis. How do I know? Because they’ve
told me they do. So be sure that your information is updated, current and what you want representing you on our site. A few quick notes:
- If we used an old headshot and/or resume, simply upload the new one after you login. (You can’t search for your own profile, but your picture will appear as soon as you login to the My Source page) For info on how to do this, check out that
trusty video again. To search others’ profiles just hit the Search button at the top of the home page and login. Make sure to update if you’ve joined a Union or changed your phone number or email as well. - Be sure to double check simple things in your profile (like Gender) More than one of you are popping up in searches where you don’t belong and although I’m sure you’re a reeeeeaaaally good actor……
- Designers! Don’t be left out! If you don’t have a head shot try posting a picture of one of your set designs, costume sketches or pics of a stunningly lit scene. You can also upload video and audio clips plus links to your Twitter and Flickr accounts and Facebook page if you have more great pictures to share with the world.
- Producers! You have a profile too. Make sure to double check that all of your
current contact info is correct and upload your logo to your page to personalize it when people are searching for you.
If you don’t have a headshot or are looking for a new one, check out our Links to Arts Services and scroll halfway down the page (past the Coaches/Teachers section) for a list of websites of local headshot photographers, samples of their work and contact information. If you are a headshot photographer that wants to be added to the list, just drop me an email at info@stagesource.org
Don’t miss out on a service that’s free with your membership and don’t risk the chance of a director skipping past your profile because it’s empty. You never know what’s going to help you get the next gig.
Be ready.

With that blog post title, don’t you need a “Follies” picture, instead? I mean, I get the “Chorus Line” relevance, but, really, aren’t you mxing your metaphors? I’m just saying…
Is it fine to place part of this in my website if perhaps I post a reference to this web-site?
Sure!
